I just love all the colors that Lisa chose for her beautiful fall wedding. I think this time of year really is my favorite for weddings. It’s not too hot and this year it wasn’t even too cold! It was a perfect fall day with golden sunlight and just a hint of chill as we headed into the evening.
Lisa & Jud were married in the lovely old St. Helena Catholic Church. It’s big enough to feel like a proper church, but small enough that smaller weddings don’t feel lost inside. I love the stone exterior of this church, don’t you?
On to the really good stuff…Lisa took her mother’s wedding veil and she refashioned it to a birdcage style which perfectly matched the style of her stunning gown. She had fall colors as her theme, with rust, gold, red and orange bouquets and boutonnieres with purple thistles. the bridesmaids wore a wonderful deep teal/blue color, with rust wraps for later in the evening.
The reception took place at their home in the hills above Calistoga. Aioli in Forestville catered cocktail hour and dinner, while guests sipped on Italian wines and enjoyed the setting sun. The fabulous tent was provided by Cal West rentals – What a difference a nice tent makes! My assistant and I were commenting on how it felt like a proper room, rather than just a tent. It really made the reception feel so elegant.
Their cake was made by the classic french bakery Costeaux. I didn’t get to stay to actually sample the cake, but I have no doubt it was delicious. They topper was made by Sara from The Small Object and Together Forever – She will custom make this wonderful topper for you based on your specifications. You can’t see it from the shot, but there are little silver sparkles on the shoulders that mimic the rhinestones on Lisa’s dress! I’m such a dork, I actually ‘squeeed’ out loud when I saw the topper. I’ve wanted one of these toppers for years now, and despite having been married for 11+ years, I might have to order one for a present for myself!
Ok, enough talking, look at the photos and enjoy my last 2010 wedding!
