Small Wedding Photography
Small weddings and elopements are my happy place. Not all photographers enjoy the intimacy of an elopement, but this is where I thrive. I love being a part of your celebrations and feel that even or maybe even especially the small ones deserve all my love and attention.
Beauty, joy, laughter, silliness, heart-bursting love... these are the things that make my heart sing.
I’m not into stiff poses. I’m not into crazy props. I’m into love and laughter and beauty in all its forms. I want you to remember the way the sunlight filtered through the trees, the sound of cheers and the way your aunt’s laughter burst out during the speeches. I want you to remember how your best friend looked at you when you emerged; all done up to the nines. I want you to remember how your grandma patted your hand with tears in her eyes. I want to help you remember the smell of your flowers, the delicious food, the clink of wine glasses and the goofy, raucous dancing. I want you to remember how you felt this day, when you took your beloved’s hand and started a new journey together
My small wedding and elopement packages include my time and talent for three hours. In addition you receive timeline planning, portrait planning, site visits and online gallery for viewing. All packages receive digital downloads of your images.
Additional time, second photographers, engagement sessions, rehearsal dinner, usb drives, prints...just ask!
Questions & Answers
how long have you been shooting weddings?
I've been shooting wedding for 15 years. My very first wedding was for my friend Mary and I shot it on medium format film with my colleague Sara. Since then I've shot weddings all over the country, from 200+ guests to just the couple and an officiant, from jeans and hay bales to ball gowns in the St. Francis. From Texas to Yosemite and a few places in between.
What's working with you like?
I have been told that I'm somewhere between an auntie and a wedding coordinator. I get along great with moms and goofy uncles (I love a good dad joke!) and I can run interference for you if you need me to. I'm a hopeless romantic, but also wicked sarcastic. I'm one of those people that just gets shit done.
What's your style?
I say that I'm "observational". I'm not really a photo journalist, but I'm not a traditional 'smile and pose' photographer. I love light and color, but I also like the small moments of quiet.I try to blend in and tell your story in moments and details, but I'll alway be close by when you need me.
what happens after the wedding?
Around 4 weeks after your wedding you will receive a gallery of your wedding images. From there you can share and download your images.
HOw Far in advance should we book?
Generally I book about 6 months out. Some couples book me as far as 12 months, so if you want me, book as soon as you can!
I don't post a lot, but when I do, it's pretty good.
