Wedding FAQ

There are so many options when choosing a wedding photographer for your celebration. How is a couple to make a decision? First and foremost you should make sure that my style speaks to you. Just as not every wedding celebration is the same, not every photographer has the same style. If my style is compatible with your vision, then there are some other questions that are commonly asked.
What’s your primary style? Posed and formal, relaxed, photojournalistic, creative, artistic, candid, traditional?
My primary style is relaxed photojournalism. I aim to tell the story of your day through details and small moments. I adore colors and all the little touches that make your day unique.

Do you shoot in color or black and white? Or both? Do you shoot in a digital format that can create both color and b/w versions of the same picture?
I shoot entirely in digital, allowing me maximum flexibility. That being said, some images are shot with the specific intention of being black & white.

What kind of input can we have on the direction of the shots? Can we give you a shot list to work from?
I do request that you give me a shot list of formal groups to be taken and I get as many of those as time will allow. As for other shots, I always do my best to accommodate your ideas, being aware that first and foremost I consider myself an artist and sometimes it’s hard to translate someone else’s ideas into my style.

Are you the wedding photographer who will actually take our pictures? If not, can we meet the person who will be?
I will always be the primary photographer at your wedding. Some packages include a full second photographer or an assistant that will shoot some events during the day and provide duplicate coverage.

Can we meet any assistants who will also be our taking pictures?
We can arrange that! You are also welcomed to check out their websites for work samples.

How many times have you worked specifically as a wedding photographer? How many were similar to the size and formality of our wedding?
I’ve been shooting an average of 10 weddings a year for the last 5 years. I’ve shot every size wedding from a simple elopement to an elegant 150 person celebration.

How many other events will you also photograph that weekend?

I never double book a weekend unless both events are small!

What kind of equipment will you bring with you? How intrusive will lighting, tripods, other equipment or assistants be?
I am a very simple shooter. I generally don’t bring complex lighting and try to remain as “behind the scenes” as possible.

Do you process your own images?
I am the only one handling the images I and my assistant shoot. I process all the images to create a cohesive collection of images for your day.

Can we buy the negatives from you?
I have packages that include images and you are always welcomed to add on the disc to any package
