Jamie & Sebastian and their friends & family flew in from Minnesota to celebrate their wedding in our beautiful county! They hosted a low key and beautiful welcome reception the evening before, which I highly recommend. The wedding day is usually so rushed that it’s always nice to have a dinner before or the next day to just get some time to sit and talk with all your guests. Ramekins Culinary hosted their wedding and what a lovely place it was! Our beautiful bride was so happy and mellow, it was truly a wonderful day. The flowers were made by a friend of the bride, the ceremony was touching and sweet, performed by Lucinda Martin of Vows and Kisses. It included a wine box ceremony, where each person writes a letter to the other, telling them what they love about them and why they are getting married. Then, when you have your first big fight – you go to separate rooms with a glass of wine and read the letters to remind you of why you committed to this. What a wonderful idea! One of my other favorite details of the day was Sebastian’s suit. You’ll notice how well it fits, which is just a must for any man (or woman) wearing a suit. He told me that where he grew up in Mexico, all weddings are “black tie” so every young man has his own tuxedo – no rentals for this dapper gentleman! I was assisted on this wedding by the talented Russell Edwards. Enjoy the photos!
Carla and Trevor were married overlooking the vineyards at her father’s home in the beautiful hills of Sebastopol. It was warm late summer weather, with family and friends from all over the world celebrating with them. Their wedding was even more remarkable because they did the majority of planning from their home in Switzerland! Carla’s dress and shoes were total show stoppers for me. The absolute simplicity and beauty of her gown compared with the crazy awesomeness of those shoes that somehow matched the flowers perfectly… amazing. They also read from and shared images of The Missing Piece and the Big O during their ceremony – it was both very funny and incredibly heartfelt – much like the couple themselves. Delicious food, touching moments, cute little girls in flower crowns, lots of wine and a whole host of characters that had me laughing well into the night.
I’m trying my best to catch up on all these weddings from over the summer! Christina and Brody’s celebration was a mix of tradition, creativity, humor, beauty and fun. The venue was at a friend’s home along the Russian River, under the gorgeous redwood trees. Bagpipes and kilts paid homage to Celtic roots, while Christina’s theatre and arts background added whimsy and flair. Her vintage style made it all come together in a sweet, classy, unique celebration. Songs were sung, dances performed, fiddles were played… and dancing under the paper lanterns went well into the evening.
Nicole and Brett found the time in their very busy schedules (they are both in their residency) to travel with close family and friends to the beautiful wine country for their wedding. After a unexpected rainstorm early in the morning, the clouds cleared in time to sprinkle dappled golden light on the happy couple as they said their vows under a big oak tree surrounded by vineyards. They then dined family style at Corks Restaurant and danced the night away. Congratulations to the happy and hardworking couple! A huge thank you to Ali Philips of Engaging events by Ali for creating this beautiful day for the couple, Belle Fiori for the lovely Flowers and Clementine Ink for the really amazing invitations and programs.
Kacper and Jenna had the most lovely location for their wedding ceremony. One of my new favorite spots to shoot, San Francisco City Hall. For people not in the know, SF City Hall is one of the most fantastic places for an intimate celebration. You can do the standard city hall in the rotunda ceremony, which is stunning as well; or you can rent out a side balcony and enjoy the beautiful soft light and view down into the main hall. Kacper and Jenna opted for the latter and what a day it was! The ceremony was sweet and beautiful, followed by a dinner at the delicious and fun Waterbar on the Embarcadero. The whole celebration was coordinated by the fantastic team at Lily Spruce, who are not only great at their job, but fun to work with as well. Enjoy these photos and much happiness to you as you start this next chapter!
