Kenwood Wedding – Mark & Lisa

Jeez, it’s been 6 months since I’ve shared here? Yikes. Well, I’m here to remedy that with this adorable little wedding from last summer. On private property under a beautiful tree, with dappled light, and lots of pie, Mark and Lisa tied the knot. Delicious food from Himalayan Tandoori and Curry House in Sebastopol, Flowers from the lovely Chloris Floral in Petaluma and Pies from the Petaluma Pie Company. So many lovely touching moments – laughter, music, family, food and a skip down the isle. What more could you want?

Toasted Recap

What a busy Spring! I attended the Toasted event again and had an amazing time. This is such a wonderfully curated show, all the vendors are really top notch and a whole lot of fun. I highly recommend going to the event the next time it rolls around in your neighborhood.

Thanks again to California Sister for the gorgeous flowers on my booth, she always hits it out of the park!

Oak and Rye has a portable wood fired oven that they can bring to your event.  It’s great fun and they make amazing pizzas. Plus their little giveaways were SO cute! Little pizza boxes with a little pizza magnet in there.Sam from Stereo Photo Album was also there, again showing off her amazing viewfinders and 3-d reels. Sparkle Bridal  is an amazing bridal boutique specially for brides size 14+. As a big girl, I really appreciate that there are so many gorgeous and amazing options for plus size brides. Not relegated to the back rack or frumpy afterthoughts, this boutique is focused on making brides feel pampered and look gorgeous.
Chairs and Cups is a rental and styling service for dinner parties and small weddings. Beautiful sets of plates and napkins, all the design elements for a full table setting. Gorgeous! Can you believe this cake? That is frosting. Frosting succulents! It’s like my dream cake!! Whisk Me Away is just the sweetest little bakery and Shaini has such a unique style and vision. Follow her on IG, you will not be disappointed in her amazing floral cake designs.
The Cheese School was back again and still stunning with their gorgeous “Cheese Cakes”.  I’ll say it again, give me one of these instead of a regular cake any day. I mean I love a good cake, but well,  cheese! Let’s just leave it there. Do you want a coffee bar at your event? Not just Coffee, but a full espresso bar? Hedge is great with their portable unit and great service. These were the BEST neighbors to have at the show. It was a rainy, cold day and the coffee kept us warm, happy and talkative all day.  (Super talkative, sorry if I was overly chatty!)
Honeycomb Desserts is a phenomenal baker and cake designer.  Just look how elegant and amazing this cake table and cake is! Not only do they make cakes, they do full cake table design and they are gorgeous.
Lauren is the beauty and brains behind Rhythm and Light Ceremonies. She is focused on creating and performing heart-felt and meaningful ceremonies for all couples. She’s a certified life coach and puts all her training and heart into making ceremonies that truly reflect the couple.  Plus will you look at her smile? It’s so obvious she’s having a blast with her couples.

Beautiful design, stunning letterpress and wonderfully sweet gals to boot. As their tag lines says “we print cute shit” and they totally do. They create suites that are elegant, quirky, modern… Whatever floats you boat Western Additions  can do it.
Lace and Liberty is a dress boutique focusing on bridal separates. This is such a cool concept – why isn’t this more common??  You can pick a top or sheath dress, add a skirt and some lace sleeves and you get a gorgeous ball gown. Take off the skirt and sleeves and you get a sexy number for dancing and the after party! Madeline Trait is a San Francisco based designer and artist. She has so many amazing pieces, but my absolute favorite are the wooden cake toppers she designs.

I was also introduced to the gorgeous Slide Ranch. It’s part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, so it is a beautiful, pristine part of the coast.  Slide Ranch has numerous programs for children and families that help foster a deeper understanding of fresh, local food, sustainable agriculture, ranch life and environmental stewardship. In addition, they rent out for parties and weddings so by having your event there you help support their goals.
Sweetness and Light Flowers is a boutique floral studio focusing on sustainable design. Their designs marry a mix of clean and modern with elegant romantic. Lovely.Last but not least. Heart of Gold Djs. They turned our room into a total dance party all day. The other room was totes jealous of our awesome beats.

Lovesick 2016 Recap

I attended the lovesick expo again this year, and as always it was a total blast. A few old favorites were there along with some new folks rockin’ the house. I didn’t get to everyone, of course, and I wish I had time to talk to all of the vendors. The handful that I *did* get to talk to were awesome and represent a great segment of the Bay Area’s Wedding vendors.

Thanks again to Rock Wall Wines for hosting and to Lovesick and Offbeat Bride for putting on the show.

Angel Cakes is a wonderful bakery based out of Oakland. Jen makes the moistest and sweetest little nuggets of joy. I had a Mojito flavored cupcake that I’m seriously still thinking about. And yes, she does vegan cupcakes!

Corey Egan makes beautiful jewelry. She describes her work as “Casually Elegant” which is so true! Her work is organic and offbeat, but still totally classy.

Epic Couples is a life coaching – relationship coaching, all around “oh crap we’re in this for the long haul let’s make sure we do it right” kind of coaching. Simply put ‘Epic Couples helps you become co-founders of an incredible life together’.

Glass Coat Photo Booth was listed as one of my favorites last year, and again they showed their great, clean and bright photo booth.

Heart of Gold DJs are SO GOOD.  Seriously, so good! You can tell how much they love music by the way they themselves couldn’t stop dancing. They connected to all their couples and had smiles on all day.  I can not WAIT to work with them this weekend at a wedding!

Home Sweet Flowers is a lovely florist with a focus on locally grown flowers for your wedding day. They provided the makings for flower crows for all the participants of Lovesick and it made for such a beautiful day! Everyone bedecked in lovely flowers!

Sarah at Warner’s Whole Heart Events is not only a great planner, she’s a great person! She’s friendly, uber-organized and a little nerdy (she’s wearing a time-turner!) She offers a full range of planning services for all manner of couples. I’ve worked with her on a few weddings and they always go off without a hitch.

Kendra Renee creates modern fine jewelry. Handmade, gorgeous, and unique. Her work is striking and bold, but not in a shouting way… more of a understated coolness that stands the test of time.

Radical Ceremony creates and performs ceremonies. Anisha specializes in working with clients who hail from interfaith and intercultural backgrounds, and/or who may have complex family and cultural components to consider in their story.

Red Hots Burlesque is so fun. I mean, come on. Let’s just agree to always have burlesque dancers at all parties, ok?

Sasser Events is a full service wedding planning business. Casey is a sweetheart and an great planner. Her wedding focus on authentic and unique celebrations.
Stereo Photo Album is probably my new favorite vendor! ACK! so adorable. Sam makes beautiful viewfinder reels with a vintage 3-d camera and boxes it all up in a gorgeous case with a viewer. What an amazing addition to your regular photography package, am I right? .
Susan Cartwright Designs is a florist with such a great eye for color! Those orange beauties are just stunning.
U Had Me at Cake is a wonderful little bakery out of Dublin that makes just the most adorable custom cake pops and other sweets. Seriously go look at them some are too dang cute to eat!

And last, but not least ME! Nah, just my lovely floral friend California Sister who made those STUNNING flowers at my booth. She managed to reach into my brain and create the exact thing I was thinking while I just muttered words at her like “red! boho! gold! organic!”

I missed the names of the folks that had the JUMPY HOUSES. But really, what wedding is complete without a jumpy house, corn hole and giant connect 4?

Jen & Rhiannon

Jen & Rhi got married at the amazing Boon Hotel and Spa this summer, surrounded by the love of family and friends. Its was a roasty hot day, but the evening cooled down and made for a gorgeous day. Since Boon has those amazing glamping tents, their wedding had a Wes Anderson theme. The welcome table was decorated with photos of the ladies as little scouts, merit badges and vintage camping accessories. The couple made the sweetest little “survival kits” for each guest – complete with bourbon, bitters, lip balm, aspirin, sewing kits and a mint.  Their attire was totally amazing, too. Rhi had a gorgeous wool suit custom made, and all her attendants had matching pants as well. Jen’s dress was so lovely and fit the casual vibe of the ceremony. Plus she could totally dance in it! The best part was the addition of the yellow slip and the bright yellow shoes. Jen’s attendants all wore matching Eshakti dresses, which is a fantastic way to get coordination with each person getting to pick their own style! Flowers were the ever popular California Sister, again. Don’t you love the soft greens and the pops of yellow? In lieu of a traditional cake, Nimble & Finn‘s brought out their little cart and served scoops to all the guests. No cake cutting for this couple, they instead got a “first lick”. So adorable, and great for the warm summer evening.  Thanks again, gals, it was amazing to be a part of your day!

Lily & Seth’s Downtown Wedding

Lily and Seth had the coolest wedding. They got married at the a local arts center that has a great vibe and a beautiful brick exterior. This venue was a sentimental one, as this was the place that they first met! Their wedding was colorful and sweet and completely represented their personalities. When we first met, we bonded over our shared love of tacos and beer and I am happy to report that both were in extreme abundance at their celebration. They had a live band that had the whole crowd dancing well into the evening – live bands really add so much energy to the party.  So many local favorites their vendors to make their celebration really a blast. First, there was Fork Catering who had their lovely truck serving tacos, salads, and so much yummy food.  Then Criminal Baking provided seven (yes, 7!) cakes and pies for refreshments. (man, it was hard to choose my favorite) Flowers were provided by the ever amazing California Sister. I just love that cockscomb and those dahlias – the colors and texture of the bouquet were simply stunning. Lastly, Sarah at Warner’s Whole Heart Events made sure the day went off without a hitch. Thank you, my friends, for including me in your special day.
