Ask me what I love about being a photographer, and I’ll talk your ear off. I feel called to capture that smile, that look, that little something that really reveals the true spirit of a person. I love showing proofs to clients and hearing their laughter and sighs and realizing that, in time, my images will become a part of their family story. I love watching families expand; being a part of their celebrations and seeing children grow in front of my lens. I feel connected to the families I photograph and each and every person becomes a part of my own story as a member of the community and as a photographer.
My goal as a photographer is to capture those moments that are over too fast, ones we often forget to enjoy during our busy days. I want to stop time for you; to catch you and your family looking at leaves, playing in the yard, rolling on the grass, jumping on the bed. What speak to me most as a photographer are these flashes of life; of happiness, of silliness, of melancholy, joy, tears, and laughter.
That’s my family up there. My husband and two boys are pretty much everything that’s right with the world. I’m also a crafter and love sewing, knitting and all sorts of projects that involve glue and ephemera. I also love cooking and watching my husband tend our garden and chickens. I’m a little bit punk rock and little bit hippie. I’m at home in the city or in the woods, but I prefer somewhere in between and somewhere I can get good tacos and beer.
